Overview

In a social and political context, nursing and healthcare is a deeply
complex subject. Drawing on theoretical frameworks from a range of
disciplines including sociology, psychology and social policy, this
Nursing Studies MSc course aims to enhance your critical understanding
of health and healthcare related issues in an international context.


In addition to developing your skills in research methods, this
flexible programme allows you to tailor what you learn to match your
interests and career requirements. 



The course consists of five mandatory modules and a choice of two
optional modules to complete the MSc.

Career opportunities

The modules offered on the Nursing Studies course provide an
opportunity to strengthen your CV in a number of ways. The practice
teacher module allows students to meet the requirements of the Nursing
and Midwifery Council or you may wish to develop leadership and
management capabilities. You might also choose to examine approaches
to managing individuals with long-term conditions or to enhance your
knowledge of pathology and pharmacology.  As an international
student, the course provides access to discussion of a broad range of
approaches to health care and the opportunity to compare and apply new
knowledge.
