Managing in a Global Context is a programme especially designed to equip you with the skills and tools required to become an effective leader in diverse business contexts (such as various industries and types of organisations) and varied intercultural settings.
The programme acknowledges that contemporary markets are increasingly complex and dynamic in terms of culture and demand, that information and communication are salient for success, and that the discourse on corporate responsibility for sustainability is crucial.
The language of instruction is English and you meet with students from all parts of the world. Through group and project-oriented work you develop your planning and collaboration skills, and experience intercultural relations.
The education is supported by faculty with substantial experience and activity in management research; with some active in JIBS’ highly recognized research centres on Media Management and Transformation (MMTC), and Family Enterprise and Ownership (CeFEO). The involvement of this faculty in your education ensures that you encounter innovative and current research throughout your programme studies.
The first year of the two-year MSc programme will be taken primarily together with the one-year programme. In the second year of the programme you can study your third semester abroad – further adding to the international dimension of your education and knowledge. The programme also prepares students for doctoral research education.
Future leaders need special skills to successfully meet and manage the challenges of globalised, dynamic markets and competitive environments, while at the same time anchoring their business activities in the local context. Depending on your background, there are wide ranges of careers you can pursue after graduation, such as: project leader, change manager, international business developer, and head of operations.
