Overview

This course combines the study of banking and finance with learning a language to give you the competitive edge in an increasingly global jobs market.

We develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skills using industry-standard trading software on our Bloomberg Financial Market Labs. You join one of the UK’s largest finance groups and are taught by academics and practitioners with industry experience.

Topics include areas such as:

- why banks exist and how they operate
- current issues in global banking and critiques of the system
- corporate finance
- financial modelling

This course is taught at Essex Business School, an international community of academics, practitioners, students and entrepreneurs. We are ranked in the UK’s top 20 business Schools (CABS) and more than two-thirds of our research is rated “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”.

Your language modules are taught by the Department of Language and Linguistics, ranked in the UK’s top 10 for research and among the Top 150 departments on the planet (QS World University Rankings).
