Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Spatial Planning, Human Geography, or another related discipline. Please provide a list of all courses you have taken, are taking and are planning to take including course content, the number of hours and literature used. See an example here. You may compile this list yourself or upload a course syllabus. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / German / Dutch. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Studying innovations and socio-economic transformations that enhance an environmentally sustainable economy, in particular affects the role of business and the market.
Master’s specialisation Corporate Sustainability: something for you?
- You’ll be introduced to the most recent scientific insights, which will be illustrated by using numerous examples from the private sector.
- Particular attention is paid to innovation: not just technological innovation but also to innovating manufactory processes and new business models.
- A major focus is placed on policies and the social-organisational aspects.
Programme structure
The Master’s specialisation in Corporate Sustainability is taught at the Nijmegen School of Management. It has a course load of 60 EC* (one year). The courses are 3 EC or 6 EC and the Master’s thesis is 24 EC. The structure of the programme is presented here.
Career opportunities
After completion, you’ll be equipped with the following skills and knowledge for a young environmental practitioner, policy-maker or academic researcher. Among others, you’ll have the ability to:
- Apply relevant social science concepts and theories that are important when analysing and clarifying social change on the path towards a sustainable future.
- Analyse and design policy change for sustainability, including the methods of policy analysis, transition management and evaluation of policy.
- Facilitate collaboration between the public and private parties involved.
- Write policy documents, strategic plans or a position paper on environment and society.
- Identify and study lobbying and advocacy efforts concerning issues of sustainability.
- Work together in a professional and goal-oriented way in a wide range of social settings (interdisciplinary teams of experts, consultations and negotiations), taking into consideration other individuals’ stances values and beliefs.
