Overview
This highly creative course encourages you to explore a range of graphic design techniques and fashion innovations. Recent graduates have gone on to amazing careers working for luxury designers such as Kurt Geiger, Ted Baker, Olivia Burton and Sophia Webster, and popular fashion brands such as Motel Rocks, Topshop and Superdry.
Throughout the course you will have access to a range of high specification facilities, such as a Mimaki digital fabric printer for print and surface design projects. You will also have free access to the Media Academy, including Mac suites with the latest Adobe Creative software, photographic studios and large-format printers, plus a wide range of digital equipment ,from the latest cameras to outside lighting kits, to make your portfolio industry-standard.
During your studies, you will have the opportunity to earn while you learn by creating art, design and fashion products to sell in Re:So, Solent’s unique student-run store, located in Southampton’s busy Marlands shopping centre.
The course syllabus is also supplemented by a varied programme of lectures by visiting industry professionals. Students have recently benefitted from talks by Caryn Franklin (TV presenter and i-D editor); Alex Brownless (Artsthread); Hannah Wiltshire and Rachel Taylor (head designers of Fat Face); and Terry Mansfield (CEO, National Magazines).
