Overview
This Joint Honours course allows you to explore a range of educational theories and approaches, while examining philosophical questions and values-based views on the world.
Education Studies at Worcester allows will teach you about the development of modern education and how education differs across the world. You’ll also learn about education from diverse settings, from Forest Schools to the inner city, and from young minds to lifelong learning.
At a time when acquiring religious literacy is universally important, this course will equip you to become a specialist teacher of Religious Education in schools, subject to further study, and the course also opens up a range of other graduate opportunities, including people-focused careers in the public, private and charity sectors.
Career opportunities
The degree is an excellent route for progression to PGCE courses at Worcester and other providers. If you achieve a 2:1 or above you will be guaranteed an interview for teacher training (Primary) at Worcester provided you meet the various national pre-requisites for the course.
As well as going on to become successful teachers other students have moved into areas of learning support, child mentoring and welfare, and become training officers in the private sector. The opportunity to take a TEFL qualification as part of the degree opens a world of employment opportunities.
