Overview
This innovative degree provides you with the skills and inside knowledge needed to work in event management.
During this course you’ll combine theory with practical work elements and gain a broad understanding of how events are planned, marketed, developed and run.
We’ll also give you a firm understanding of the music and live event business. You’ll learn about the unique nature of working in music event management and look at a number of entrepreneurial approaches to the music business. You will also spend time exploring the social and cultural factors that affect the production and consumption of popular music.
Career opportunities
Successful Bucks graduates can look forward with confidence to a career in the world of live music, event management and entertainment. You’ll be qualified for work in event marketing and promotion, festival organisation and tour management. You’ll also be prepared for roles such as operations managers, events officers and corporate events coordinators. Alternatively, you may choose to pursue a career in stage and venue management or further your studies at postgraduate level.
Entrepreneurship is taught throughout this degree to give you the skills needed to work as a self-employed professional, or to launch your own business within live music and events management.
