Overview
Law provides the framework for modern society, impacting on all our lives. Studying for an LLB is an intellectually demanding and thought-provoking experience. This programme will help you develop an enquiring and critical attitude to law, learn to think logically and communicate clearly. The skills you will acquire throughout the degree are transferable and as a result you will enjoy excellent employment prospects in both law and non-law careers.

First year
We assume you have no prior knowledge of the law, so one of the first modules you take will be Legal Skills and Methods, designed to give you the skills needed to succeed at a law degree. The full list of modules scheduled for first year are:

Year abroad
You can apply to study abroad for a year in an approved university around the world. If you achieve a grade of 2.1 or above in your first year then you will be invited to apply for a Year Abroad in your second year. CEPLER is developing new and innovative approaches to teaching to give you experience of real world law. So far, we have introduced two new practice-based modules: Regulation of the Legal Profession, which will encourage you to question assumptions about lawyers and their role in society; and Advocacy, which covers a range of skills such as mooting, negotiation and mediation, along with court observations and presentation skills development.
