Overview
In the fast-moving and exciting world of digital media, this degree will equip you with the
insight and skills to get the marketing career you want.
You’ll learn to explore the concepts, challenges, tools and techniques of marketing across all platforms, but you’ll specialise in digital. By running a student-led digital marketing agency, you’ll get real-world experience before you graduate – working with real clients, on real briefs, and seeing real results.
Programme structure
Stage One
During this foundational stage, you’ll develop your understanding of the key elements of business operations, the challenges in the current business landscape and future trends. You’ll explore data, information and intelligence, and get an insight into finance, marketing, and the tactics and techniques needed to understand and influence people. You’ll advance your interpersonal and decision-making skills; working in a team, presenting and pitching ideas.
Stage Two
In this stage, you’ll build your specialist skills and knowledge, deepening your understanding of the core ideas and concepts behind successful digital marketing campaigns. Subjects include website and app design, consumer behavior, social media and CRM.
You’ll also study project management and explore team learning and performance. As your expertise grows, you’ll be starting to implement your business plan and pitch your skills to the target market.
Stage Three
As you develop your portfolio of marketing solutions you’ll also undertake a substantive piece of academic work — either an applied project, a work placement or a dissertation. This will be underpinned by further subjects including applied advertising and branding, creative leadership and sustaining and growing businesses.
