Designed to fast-track your professional development, this course teaches you the marketing skills you need to succeed. Our course mixes theory with practice, and in your final year you’ll combine study with a paid work placement, gaining first-hand experience.
Working in a real job role will give you the skills and experience you’ll need for your full-time career. It has helped our former students gain roles with the likes of Unilever, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Disney. Our alignment with the CIM ensures our course content remains fresh, relevant and full of key industry insight.
We teach by using real business scenarios, so you’ll get the chance to draft marketing plans for actual companies, work on business case studies and gain work experience both within the University and with one of our industry contacts.
A distinctive feature of our course is the option to undertake a sandwich year, enabling you to undertake a year-long, paid work placement. In the past, students have gained valuable work experience with companies such as Unilever and Warner Bros.

To ensure you have the attributes needed, there’ll be the use of live clients for teaching and assessment, case studies and our Virtual Learning Environment, all of which will give you a comprehensive education into an exciting, ever-changing environment.
In your first year, you’ll gain a solid understanding of the major theories, principles and concepts of marketing, along with key transferrable skills that will be highly desired by employers.
Your second year will see you continue to develop and build on the skills you learnt in your first year. You’ll utilise the principles of marketing practice in an operational context, solving industry issues and analysing different scenarios.
The fantastic thing about studying marketing is that in can lead you into just about any industry, so you can work for a company that lets you explore the things you love.
Marketing students also get a good knowledge of business and really benefit from being part of the Business School. Graduates have gone on to work for prestigious companies such as The Royal Bank of Scotland, Goodyear Dunlop, Disney and Jaguar Land Rover.
