Our BSc Business Management (including foundation year) is open to Home, EU and international students. It will be suitable for you if your academic qualifications do not yet meet our entrance requirements for the three-year version of this course and you want a programme that increases your subject knowledge as well as improves your English language and academic skills.
This four-year course includes a foundation year (Year Zero), followed by a further three years of study. During your Year Zero, you study four academic subjects relevant to your chosen course as well as a compulsory English language and academic skills module.
You are an Essex student from day one, a member of our global community based at the most internationally diverse campus university in the UK.
After successful completion of Year Zero in our International Academy, you progress to complete your course with Essex Business School. Our course will provide you with a rich understanding of how organisations operate – what they do, how they develop their strategies and why. You learn what’s involved in managing organisations in an increasingly complex business world and be given the opportunity to develop you own chosen management specialism. You will study topics including:
- Management, innovation and new technologies
- The international business environment
- Organisational behaviour
- Marketing management
- Business economics
Essex has more start-up businesses than any other county in the UK, and more than two-thirds of the research within Essex Business School is rated “world-leading” or “internationally excellent”, placing us in the top 25 in the UK for research excellence (REF 2014).
