The course has a major/minor structure, meaning you will spend two-thirds of your time tackling topics such as child development and the psychology of learning and may also study bilingual education, children’s rights and Special Educational Needs. You will spend one-third of your time on core History modules, also choosing from a variety of modules covering Welsh, British and World history.
Your BA in Education with History will prepare you for teaching and a broad range of employment or training options. Your knowledge of education may help you to establish a career as a community education officer, education administrator, lecturer, special educational needs teacher or youth worker. Your historical expertise will help you in a career as an academic librarian, archivist, heritage manager, or museum conservator. The degree will also enable you to apply for Primary or Early Years PGCE courses.
