This course focuses on developing your oral and written fluency in both French and Russian to a high standard, with beginners Russian classes where appropriate. You’ll also study the society and culture of both nations.
Modules from French and the Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies cover literature, linguistics, society, cinema, business, politics, cultural and gender studies. You’ll also learn transcription, translation and subtitling skills. Your year abroad will be split between Russia and a French-speaking country.
Our graduates go into the civil service, media and advertising, translating and interpreting, business, law, charity, teaching and social work.
