The course gives you a solid grounding in modern economic theory and techniques of applied economic analysis. You’ll develop the quantitative and analytical skills economists need to make informed judgements.
In the first year you take two compulsory modules in economic analysis and policy. These introduce the basic frameworks of microeconomics (the decisions of individuals and firms) and macroeconomics (wider economic issues such as inflation and unemployment). You also take compulsory modules in mathematical and statistical methods for economics.
You continue to develop your knowledge of key techniques and concepts throughout the second and third years. Optional modules may include topics such as the Economics of Cities and Applied Microeconomics. The compulsory Advanced Economic Analysis helps to prepare for work as a professional economist or for postgraduate study.
Some graduates become professional economists in government, industry or the City. Others enter related professions – retail banking, investment banking, actuarial work, insurance underwriting, accountancy, sales and marketing, operations and retail management.
We are currently NOT ACCEPTING applications from NON-EU countries, except Georgia and Serbia.
