Overview
In 2013, 97% of graduating students from the sandwich course went into employment or further study within six months of graduation. (DLHE survey 2012/13)
If you are interested in the design and development of internal spaces in relation to their overall architectural composition then this is the course for you. You will develop an understanding of how structure, colour and light are used to create practical, useful and stimulating environments.
The course is delivered through lots of practical work including:
group projects
study trips
real-life projects from industry and competitions.
This will give you the complete package of skills, knowledge and experience to develop your career as an interior architect.

What will I study?
Throughout your course you will familiarise yourself with the principals of design related to architectures and interiors. The projects will be based upon real sites and, where possible, client focussed.
Year One modules:

Design Communication
Technical Studies One
Interior Architecture in Context One.
Year Two modules:
IAD Design Studio Two
Professional Studies
Technical Studies Two
Interior Architecture in Context Two.
Year Three: Optional work placement year
The third year work placement option is spent in working in industry gaining relevant and valuable experience.
Final year modules:
IAD Design Studio Three
Technical Studies Three
Research project.
