Overview

Hospitality is one of the worlds fastest-growing industries. In the UK, it has an annual turnover of around £90 billion and employs more than two million people.

Our courses will make you employable in international hotels and resorts and in a range of tourism and hospitality businesses.

This degree has been developed to meet the demand for entrepreneurial, creative and strategic managers in the international hospitality industry. You will gain a critical understanding of the current industry challenges and acquire a set of tools and strategies for overcoming them.

Programme structure

Year 1
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Technology (30 credits)
Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management (30 credits)
Principles of Hospitality (30 credits)
Food: Production and Consumption (15 credits)
Personal and Professional Development – PPD1 (15 credits)

Year 2
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Event Production in Practice (30 credits)
Marketing for Tourism and Hospitality (30 credits)
Hospitality Internship (30 credits)
HRM for Tourism, Hospitality and Events (15 credits)
Research Methods (MET) (15 credits)

Year 3
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Tourism Innovation and Business Planning (30 credits)
Strategic Hospitality Management (30 credits)
Financial Planning for Hospitality (15 credits)
Revenue Management for Hospitality (15 credits)

Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options.

Consultancy Project (30 credits)
Dissertation (MET) (30 credits)

Career opportunities
