Overview
Computer Science for Games is a well-established industry inspired programme which gives you all the benefits of Computer Science, with specific experience of how it applies to the design and creation of computer games.
This course shares a common first year with all our other Computer Science programmes, allowing you to transfer between them before the start of the second year if you feel an alternative course suits you better.
Computer Science for Games will give you a strong foundation within mainstream computing topics, enriched and enhanced with specific subjects focussing on games technologies, approaches for design, content creation and AI.
The course aims to produce graduates that are ready to enter the job market with a strong skillset and an understanding of how game development teams work together effectively.

Computer Science for Games combines core Computing topics with contextual and specific learning in games design and development. Career prospects are not limited to the games industry though, with a strong set of general and specific Computing skills in every year of the course enabling graduates to gain employment in a wide range of Computing related roles.
