Overview
The IT Management for Business undergraduate degree provides students with the opportunity to participate in a degree that seeks to develop skilled graduates who have a sound technical knowledge in IT, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage people effectively.
The degree has been developed in conjunction with industry that recognises a real need for such graduates in the workplace. The world of IT is changing within organisations as it is within society. It is less about software engineering and computer science and more about the efficient utilisation of systems, processes and technology. Business is looking more and more for IT to enable better decision making, improve processes, identify new opportunities and increasingly have a greater influence in the business strategy. This changing workplace is totally reliant on information systems and the people who design, implement and manage them. IT managers need to understand business, and business managers need to understand the value of IT. Our BA (Hons) IT Management for Business programme will enable you to acquire the skills and experience necessary to operate effectively across these areas.
Degrees with International English Studies:
At the University of Chichester you can begin your undergraduate studies with an English level of IELTS 5.5 (minimum in all 4 components) by combining your chosen subject with International English Studies on a three year degree Programme. Our BA (Hons) International English Studies is specially designed for students for whom English is not a first language and it provides integrated language development and study throughout your degree Programme.
How do the combinations work?
You take International English Studies as a Joint (50%), Minor (25%) or International Route (25%) with one of the subjects above. International Route means you will graduate in your chosen subject with International Route in your degree title e.g. Business Studies (International Route).
Your options are flexible as your language improves. Some students begin by taking International English as part of a Joint Route and then move to a Major (75%) or to Single Honours (100%) in their chosen subject. Other students, particularly those who wish to use English professionally after graduation, for example as teachers, interpreters or workers in international business, choose to continue with International English as a Joint Route.
The University provides advice on your options throughout your studies and also offers a free language profiling service to applicants.
