Essential Info

The Sports Coaching and Performance degree is designed to ensure that
key principles related to the study and delivery of coaching are
incorporated within the course content. The course reflects current
developments in sports coaching and recognises the requirement to
ensure that a professional workforce is developed to work with young
children, youth and adults.

The Sports Coaching and Performance degree will provide opportunities
for students to gain vocational experience in coaching and developing
young children whilst integrating key theoretical issues within
lectures that support the coaching process. Modules will be delivered
through a variety of methods that will incorporate classroom lectures,
group discussion, vocational experience and field based work. The
course is designed for those that have intentions of entering sports
coaching, sports development or physical education teaching
profession.

All students who enrol on this course will receive appropriate
Glamorgan Sport kit at no additional cost. The kit requirement varies
according to the actual course being studied but it will include at
least a tracksuit and t-shirt. A Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
is also required and this cost is also included in the course fee.
