In Purchasing Management – Fashion you will learn to work with purchasing in an independent manner through research and development. You will be able to make an estimate of the financial and logistic parts of a company in the fashion and lifestyle sectors and to handle both the internal and external negotiations. You will acquire a profound knowledge of commercial and financial theories and you will learn how to put into practice the business concept and strategy of a company in an international market.
You will learn to supervise and keep track of processes and projects that can ensure the optimization of the purchasing function and you will work with product and supplier development, negotiation and sourcing. You will also acquire knowledge of the materials related to the fashion industry which the products are made of. In this way you will have an advantage in negotiations and decision-making. In addition you will learn about the legal and cultural factors in a global industry. You will be able to enter into partnerships and participate in and keep track of the work across the different parts of the value chain. Finally you will be familiar with reading the market and using this as your starting point for planning purchasing activities.
As a Purchaser, you can work as part of a purchasing team in a company developing/trading clothing and accessories for the fashion and lifestyle industry.
