This course gives you a solid grounding in aerospace engineering. You’ll learn how to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of engineering disciplines.

From the second year onwards, you can specialise in aeromechanics or avionic systems, or study both and keep your options open.

Our modules cover aero propulsion, aerodynamic design, aircraft dynamics and control, computational aerodynamics and project management. Your study includes some experience of flight instrumentation and an individual investigative project of your choice.

All our students also take the Global Engineering Challenge, where teams of students work to solve engineering problems in developing countries. This is designed to develop you as a professional engineer and enhance your career prospects.

Well-qualified engineering graduates are in high demand. We provide hands-on, tailored careers planning and guidance. There are career opportunities at managerial and specialist technical levels, and in consultancy.

Our graduates have gone on to work in aerospace design, aviation, transport, manufacturing, finance, energy and power, and the armed forces. Some continue to further study or research. Employers include Airbus, BAE Systems, BP, Ernst and Young, Jaguar Land Rover, Ministry of Defence, Nissan, Rolls-Royce, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Royal Air Force and Shell.
