Overview

MSc Advanced Clinical Practice provides an academic underpinning that meets the contemporary challenges of advanced clinical practice.

Within this, the Children and Young People Pathway is designed for you if you are a UK, EU or internationally registered health care practitioner working with children and/or young people.

It is underpinned by contemporary national and international child health policy which seeks to ensure that those caring for children and their families have received education to fully equip them to meet the needs of this client group.

If you are looking for a masters in paediatrics this programme may be suitable for you. It will be particularly suited to you if you are a graduate children’s nurse or other graduate healthcare practitioner who has consolidated your pre-registration education with experience in the field of child health, and is now seeking to advance your professional practice.

Programme structure

In the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Children and Young People) you will:

Examine role development in relation to advanced practice, and specifically in relation to advanced practice in the care of children and young people. Examine the nature and use of advanced practice, communication and decision-making skills Explore how to meaningfully apply evidence to child health practice Undertake learning which enables you to develop new and/or enhanced clinical skills in relation to your professional role within the care of children and young people. Enable you to build on your knowledge, skills and competence to become a clinical expert and/or leader in your chosen field of child health practice
