Overview

This programme aims to develop your professional and practical skills to become an effective manager of teams and individuals. There is a particular emphasis on people management skills for you to become confident in handling complex interpersonal interactions. The programme is influenced by academia and employers and there are many opportunities offered to use experience from part-time work to enrich learning. The programme can be taken with sandwich placement (4 years to complete) or a 3 or 6 month internship (3 years to complete). The programme also offers the opportunity to complete an additional (non-qualification) Greenwich Graduate certificate, which will help to demonstrate skills to future employers. You may also apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.

The aims of the programme are:

To study organisations, particularly the management of people within changing contexts
To enhance lifelong learning skills and personal development allowing you to contribute to society at large.

Programme structure

Year 1

Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Introduction to Business Functions (15 credits)
Personal and Professional Development 1: Study Skills and Self Evaluation (15 credits)
Context and Regulatory Framework of Business (30 credits)
Business Planning and Development – Quantitative Methods 1 (30 credits)
Management Skills 1: Managing the Individual and Team (15 credits)
Organisation Behaviour 1: Managing the Performance of Individuals (15 credits)

Year 2

Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Cross-cultural Management (15 credits)
Business Ethics (15 credits)
Management Skills 2: Managing Effectively (15 credits)
Personal and Professional Development 2: Communication and Research Skills (15 credits)
Management and Information Systems (15 credits)
Organisational Behaviour 2: Managing Groups and Teams (15 credits)

Year 3
