Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) A Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence or a related programme with comparable content from Radboud University or other Research University. You are required to have: 1) substantial knowledge of Computer Science (in particular sufficient programming experience and software development experience); The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / German / Dutch. Overview
This Master’s specialisation has a focus on developing intelligent machines and new ways for humans and machines to interact, as well as understanding cognition through human behavior. We concentrate on communication and interaction between multiple intelligent agents with a special focus on language.
Master’s in Intelligent Technology: something for you?
- You will study advanced AI methods and artifacts that can make a crucial difference for human well-being, such as neurotechnology, brain-computer-interfaces, speech recognition, and vision and auditory prosthetics.
- You will learn about the societal impact of AI and learn to understand ethical considerations with respect to AI.
- You have the opportunity to study for a double degree, for example in Artificial Intelligence: Intelligent Technology and Computer Science: Data Science.
- This specialisation focuses on the application of AI techniques and principles in healthcare, assistive technology, human-robot interaction, and other application areas: you will work with stakeholders and companies on actual problems for which novel solutions are sought.
Programme structure
The Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence is taught at the Faculty of Social Sciences. It has a course load of 120 EC* (two years). The structure of the programme is presented here.
Career opportunities
Artificial Intelligence graduates have excellent job prospects and are often offered a job before they have actually graduated. Many of the graduates go on to do a PhD either at a major research institute or university with an AI department. Other graduates work for companies interested in cognitive design and research. Examples of companies looking for AI experts with this specialisation: Booking.com, Webpower, Google, Facebook, Philips, Booking.com, Philips, Rabobank. Some students have even gone on to start their own companies.
Examples of jobs that a graduate could get:
- PhD researcher, for example, on enhancing speech recognition using semantic knowledge or in user interaction design for patient-doctor communication in a virtual hospital
- Data Scientist in a web start-up
- Developer for Computer-Aided Language Learning
- EU R&D programme leader on machine translation of natural language
- Developer of intelligent software for music studios
