Overview
This integrated course includes content from the undergraduate BEng degree, in addition to postgraduate degree content. Students will graduate with a masters degree (MEng) upon completion.
We will prepare you to be creative and innovative in addressing challenges from the implementation of the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0.
This course is for students interested in developing their careers in both analytical and practical areas of control engineering, with emphasis on implementation of practical industrial control systems. This course also provides excellent preparation for students wishing to continue their study to doctorial level research.
You will study Discrete Control Systems and Stability, Control of Non-Linear Systems, Smart Sensors, Competitive and Reliability Engineering, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Creative and Innovative Design Projects, and complete an Advanced Research Project.
The Industrial Control Engineering course has been designed to create effective multi-disciplinary engineers who have acquired the necessary creative, technical and research skills to work within the broad spectrum of modern industry.
This course will equip you with advanced knowledge of industrial control engineering, including classical control system design and optimal, adaptive and intelligent control systems. The course will also cover engineering management and explore pioneering approaches in this field – encouraging students to solve both real-world and research-orientated problems.
The course has been designed to be accredited by the Engineering Council through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineering (iMechE), and/or the Energy Institute.
