Overview
In your first year, you’ll develop a mini agency with its own brand, digital media presence, print materials and strategy based on what you’ve learned in tutorials.
You’ll address real-world issues from the start, using your new skills to explore case studies and support local start-ups and charities with their marketing challenges. You’ll graduate with professional experience and useful contacts to help kick-start your career.
Bristol is the biggest creative hub outside of London, and our close links with local business and agencies will ensure plenty of opportunities to secure mentoring and placements. The course’s Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) accreditation will further enhance your employability.
If you choose to do a sandwich degree, you’ll study abroad for a year with one of our partner universities or complete a work placement before your final year.
Career opportunities
When you graduate you’ll have the skills to go directly into a wide range of careers; the majority of our Marketing Communications graduates report being in work or further study a year after graduating.
You could become an advertising account executive, digital marketing executive, recruitment manager, sales manager.
Your skills would also make you suitable for project and events management across a number of industries.
You might work for a multinational ‘through-the-line’ agency or a small ‘hotshop’, choose to work in-house or start your own business.
Whatever you decide, you’ll be equipped with management, leadership and organisational skills that will make you attractive to employers from a variety of industries.
