Overview
Our degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences is a wonderful opportunity for first-class students with wide cultural, academic and professional interests to turn curiosity and creativity into the ability to analyse and contextualise, to communicate and lead.
Students choose a primary group (Arts, Social Science or Natural and Life Science) which remains the same throughout their degree. A different secondary group is also chosen, which may be changed every semester.
Each semester two modules are taken from the primary group and one from the secondary, in addition to a compulsory Liberal Arts and Sciences module exploring research, interdisciplinary and professional skills.
Alternatively, these three groups are subdivided into seven disciplinary pathways which you can follow if you prefer a more structured approach to your studies.
This prestigious new programme demonstrates our commitment to a liberal education that gives you both academic and professional experiences. It involves in-depth research-based study set in a broad context of interdisciplinary knowledge, underpinned by Surrey’s unique approach to personal and professional development.
We have built this degree around our pioneering expertise in personal development and Professional Training to form a programme for gifted, ambitious students that is quite unlike any other in the country.
