Overview

Building on the University’s strong links with industry and run by internationally recognised academics, our Automotive Engineering programmes will give you the specialised expertise you need to become a professional engineer in the automotive industry, or equally provide you with the right skill set to take up a career in motorsport.

Our Automotive Engineering degree is a unique programme that focuses on new and emerging sustainable automotive technologies (such as electric vehicles). Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art design and development tools such as computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) methods, applying these to vehicle development.

As an integral part of your degree you will get involved in Formula Student – Europe’s most established student motorsport competition, in which Surrey has successfully competed for many years. This will give you a valuable opportunity to apply your knowledge to real-life problems and gain hands-on experience.

Career opportunities
