Overview

Our Criminal Law LLB gives you the opportunity to explore the criminal justice system, and understand how it operates and impacts on our lives.

This degree is suited to students who are interested in a career as a criminal lawyer, or law-related careers such as working for the police or the Crown Prosecution Service.

During the first two years you will study subjects we consider crucial to your understanding of law, giving you a good grounding in important legal topics, issues and principles. Then in your final year you will specialise in Criminal Law, covering topics from the Law of Evidence to Youth Justice.

This is a qualifying law degree accredited by the Professional Bodies, and is therefore your first step into a career as a solicitor or barrister. We will equip you with all the legal tools and expertise you’ll need, as well as help you develop important transferable knowledge and skills; honing your communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.

Our LLB programmes are flexible in structure and share a common first and second year, which gives you the option to switch to a different LLB pathway in the final year. This allows you to take your time to decide on which aspect of law is right for you.

You can also combine your passion for learning and travelling by studying abroad at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Canada, Australia, North America or Hong Kong.

Upon successful completion of the Bradford LLB Law degree, you are able to proceed to the Legal Practice Course (for aspiring solicitors) or the Bar Professional Training Course (for aspiring barristers).

Career opportunities

Our LLB Law degree will enable you to proceed to the second stage of training to become a solicitor or barrister.

It is designed to give you the legal tools you will need for a career as a Criminal Law solicitor or barrister, or in the Crown Prosecution Service, the probation service, or the police.

It will also equip you for employment in other areas, such as general business and management, public service or teaching.
