Work psychology is vital to our wellbeing, as individuals and as a society.
The Institute of Work Psychology at Sheffield is a world leader in the field. We work with public and private sector organisations. We also advise professional bodies and policy makers.
Our hands-on course is designed to prepare you for a career that makes a positive difference to everyday lives, makes organisations more effective and contributes to economic growth.
You will pick up valuable transferable skills in information management, communication, planning and research. In practical workshops, you’ll learn how to use statistical software.
This degree is not recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS) but it will help you develop the skills you need for research and practice as an occupational psychologist.
There’s a programme of regular guest lectures by professionals. And the course can involve a research project in a real-world organisation, which will demand effective communication, negotiation and project management skills. IWP staff will help you identify opportunities.
Recent research projects include a performance management project for a large organisation, working with a company in the insurance sector on change management, and a review of a law firm’s reward system.
